Cascarones or Confetti Eggs

Happy Easter!

For years I've been blowing out and saving eggs to do Cascarones (confetti eggs).  And this year I finally did it!  I have about 3-4 dozen I'm hiding with regular eggs for an egg hunt.  I think the older children will be far more interested in collecting these eggs than the plastic ones.  I mean, you can throw them and break them!  What else could a tween want?

The instructions are here at my other blog.

Enjoy!  =)

Easter Craft: Felt Chick

Today's craft is the felt chick shown above.  The free printable is below.  You stitch the chick just like the rabbit....pattern pieces get stitched to the yellow felt first-wings get stitched on to the body as well- and the face gets stitched on before you begin sewing the body.  On the body, start from the back, pinning the tail feathers in at the bottom and stitch your way up.  Then pin the head feathers in, sew around, stuff and close.

Easter Craft: Felt Bunny

I added this craft to my shop blog today.  It's a felt bunny.  Inexpensive to make and quick to sew, my kids love playing with the felt animals.  So go to http://13shopnumber13.blogspot.com and get the free printable pattern!

Autism Awareness Crafts

I started this blog years ago, when I only had one child.  Now I have two, both are Autistic.  One boy and one girl and each child is on either end of the spectrum.  That said, April is a meaningful month for us and April 2nd, in particular, is a meaningful day.  You can read more about our lives and what it is to have Autistic children in my other blog here.  But for this blog post I will focus on the craft I did this year for my son's therapists.

The "craft" part of this project I will share with you first.  It's the printable card.  Feel free to use it to print and cut out for your favorite person/therapist/teacher.
The second part of this project is the key-ring gift.  I had it fabricated and thanks to my husband and brother-in-law, I think they turned out fabulous!  If you would like to purchase one, I have a link at the bottom of this page.  Or, you can go through the website at www.shopnumber13.com.
